Apartment Fire on West Potomac St

April 24, 2017

Around 2020 hrs, units from Company 5 and the surrounding area were dispatched to the 100blk of West Potomac St in downtown Brunswick for a report of an apartment fire on the 2nd floor. As the call was dispatched, Brunswick PD arrived to confirm a working fire and ECC dropped the Rapid Intervention Dispatch. A199 and NCR714 arrived on the scene reporting fire showing from the 2nd floor of an apartment with people possible trapped and requested the 2nd alarm. E51 and TR5 arrived, advanced a hose line to the 2nd floor and around back to contain the fire. Duty 5 arrived and took over the command. Units searched the entire apartment building and found everyone outside with no one trapped. The fire was quickly brought under control with damage only to the deck on the 2nd floor and moderate extension to the laundry room. The FMs were on the scene investigating, but said it looks to have started on the outside deck.
